ABOUT CERTIFICATES OF COURSE COMPLETION

We offer two varieties of Certificates of Course Completion:

  • Continuing Education, and

  • College-Level (Statutory) Education

Continuing Education Certificates

A Continuing Education ("CE") Certificate of Course Completion is issued for each continuing education coures successfully completed. Each certificate will display your registration information along with the name of the course, the purchase date, when the course was completed, the amount of course credit earned (typically either 3-hours or 15-hours), and the official Course Number. CE certificates are valid for 4 years from the date issued or until submitted for license renewals.

Keep CE certificates in a safe place. When you renew your license, do not send in the certificates. Certificates are for your records only. The DRE only requires the Certicate Number for the course (typically in the format of "0054-xxxx") for a license renewal and the date the course was completed.

Be sure to renew your license online through the DRE website. It's fast and easy, plus your license will be automatically updated on its renewal date.

College-Level (Statutory) Certificates

A College-Level "Statutory" Certificate of Course Completion is issued for each college-level course successfully completed. Each certificate will display your registration information along with the name of the course, when it was completed, and the official Course Number. College-Level certificates are valid for life. Keep statutory certificates with your permanent records in a safe place. Make or print duplicate copies.

The DRE requires that you must submit a copy of your college-level certificates any time you are qualifying for a salesperson or broker license. The DRE does not keep certificates on file. They only maintain a notation that a certificate was submitted. Therefore, always keep a permanent college-level certificate in a safe and handy location just in case.
