ONLINE FINAL EXAM PROCEDURES
The following instructions outline the procedure for taking any Online Final Exam. Please follow this procedure carefully to ensure a successful transmission of your exam. If you experience any problems, please contact our office at 800 - 439 - 4909. Our office hours are Monday - Friday 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. For correspondence questions, the best hours to call are from 9 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. so problems can be resolved that same day.
Due to the nature of Internet testing the following instructions must be followed accurately.
Students With a 9-digit Student ID and Password:
All of your final exams and PDF-formatted (static) reading materials will be accessible via the Student Work Center ("SWC"). You may access the SWC by clicking on the Student Login link located immediately beneath and to the right of our graphical banner on our Home page. These instructions are repeated in an automatically generated e-mail that will be sent to you immediately after you successfully complete online registration. Should you not received the e-mail, please notify the office.
DRE MANDATED WAITING PERIODS
Once you receive your materials, your DRE mandated waiting period will begin:
· All Salesperson and Brokers Renewals: 5-day waiting period after receipt of materials
· College-Level (Broker) courses: 18-day waiting period per course, sequentially
Start reading your materials as soon as possible. All orders will include PDF downloadable materials when possible. You'll have immediate access to all reading materials once you complete the order process.
The SWC will inform you as to when you may take a final exam. Then the required waiting time has been met, "Test" buttons will appear in the SWC. Click on the "Test" button to take a final exam.
You will be presented with a pre-exam sign-in page. Please provide all information as requested. Your exam will start as soon as you click on the "Take The Final Exam" button.
ALL STUDENTS TAKING AN ONLINE FINAL EXAM:
Read and answer each question by clicking the most correct answer. After answering all questions, click the (Submit) button at the bottom of the exam page. An "Are you sure" prompt will display. Click the OK button to submit your final exam for grading. Your final exam results will be displayed. Return to the SWC by clicking on the navigational buttons only. In the SWC display, a "Print" button will appear for each successfully completed final exam. Click on this button to display and print you certificate. Certificates of Course Completion will be presented for printing if the exam grade is 60% or better for College-Level exams, and 70% or better for a Continuing Education exams.
The time limit per final exam varies. All exams are multiple choice and you are allotted one (1) minute per question depending on the type of exam. A Time Remaining clock appearing on the final exam will keep you aware of how much time is remaining. Don't left the clock intimidate you. You can complete the final exam with plenty of time remaining.
Once you start an exam, do not walk away from the test. Should you run out of time, your exam will be submitted for grading. Should you fail to pass an exam, Continuing Education final exams can be repeated immediately. College-Level exam can be repeated one (1) hour later.
The exam is not printable or downloadable (per DRE regulations).
Sometimes students are disconnected by their Internet Server Providers ("ISP") or dial-up modems partway through the exam. It is recommended that you keep track of your answers on a separate sheet of paper in case of ISP or modem issues problems.
Once you submit your answers for grading, you will be notified of your grade immediately on the screen. By DRE regulations we cannot provide you with a grade. Once you earn a passing grade, your Certificate of Course Completion will be made available for printing when you return to the SWC page.
Return and Refund Policy
If the materials are returned unused and in perfect condition within a one-month period, you will be given a refund less $20 for each course. If you paid by check, you will be issued a check. If you paid by credit card, your account will be credited, and a copy of the credit will be emailed to you. This does not apply to anyone who has used or completed the courses. If you purchased a course that came with a Pass-Guarantee, and are applying for a refund please refer to the information included with the materials on what is required.
Your privacy is important to us, so we have created the following Privacy and Security Policy to let you know what information we collect when you visit our web sites, DuaneGomer.com, NotariesUnlimited.com, and DuaneGomer.biz ("we", "us", "our"), why we collect it, and how it is used.
We may collect information needed to contact you at a later date. If we collect personal contact information, you may contact us in writing at a later date to have your information removed from our systems.
When you order materials from us, we may request your first and last name, home or other physical address including the name of your city and state and postal code. We may also request your phone number and e-mail address or other "real world" contact information.
We use the contact information to create a purchase sales receipt, to ship educational materials when requested, and in the case where required by California State Education Regulations, will maintain certain data such as your name for permanent records, transcripts, etc.
We may request your email address to contact you online. We use it to help you to find your online records in case you have forgotten a user password. Ocassionally, we may send an email with important information concerning DRE, California Notary Public, and California Mortgage Loan Origination Regulation updates, and new laws that may effect your method of conducting business. On ocassions, we may send to your email address special promotional offers that may help you to further your career. You may request to have your email addresss removed from our systems.
All course materials are maintained in our systems. This information may be used to produce college-level transcripts, continuing education and license renewal records, certificates, and sworn statements as related to notary education materials.
With any online purchase, we do collect Credit Card information (including the credit card number, expiration date, and CVC code) and your Internet Protocol ("IP") address as required by the online Credit Card Processing company, HOWEVER, we do not retain any credit card information in our systems.
We are using "Google Analytics" to evaluate visitor viewing habits. This service requires the writing of a cookie to your computer. You may receive a warning message stating that a cookie is being created. If you approve, you will be helping Duane Gomer Education to improve our materials presentation for current and future visitors.
We offer secured web pages to collect all personal and transaction purchase information, using state-of-the-art online transaction procedures and technologies including 2048-bit data encryption oer secure socket layers ("SSL"). All electronic transactions take place on our secured web page, https://www.DuaneGomer.biz. During the transaction process, your Internet process will be automatically transferred to our secured server and your session will remain on this secured server until the secured transaction has been completed in full. A browser-dependent security signal will be displayed to notify you concerning the security measures that we have implemented. For Internet Explorer and FireFox, the security "sign" may be a padlock in the locked position. For Netscape Navigator and a few select other browser, this may be in the form of the address bar changing from a white background to a different color (yellow for Netscape Navigator, for an example).
All Internet Service Providers ("ISP's") and Web Hosting Sites collect visitor-specific information that is beyond our control. Web Hosing Sites may collect information that may include, but are not limited to:

For all real estate college-level ("statutory") courses, we will maintain the course records for as long as Duane Gomer, Inc. is providing education services.
For all real estate continuing education courses, we are required to maintain the course records for a minimum of 4 years from the date of purchase. These records may be purged from our systems after 4 years.
For all California notary public records, we will maintain all records for a minimum of 4 years from the date of purchase. These records may be purged from our systems after 4 years.
For all California Mortgage Loan Origination records, we will maintain all records for a minimum of 1 year from the date of purchase. These records may be purged from our systems after 1 year.
We do not share any collected information with other parties that are not a Duane Gomer, Inc. business. We do not sell or provide any information about you to any third-party agency unless, upon special circumstances, that agency would only be a California State agency, including the California Secretary of State, the California Burea of Real Estate, and possibly the National Mortgge Lending System, upon request.
