Step-by-Step Instructions

Step One

Enroll in the 3 required prerequisite courses and the State Exam Prep course.

Printed books will be shipped to you the next business day. E-books available immediately in your student work center.

Step Two

Study and pass our course exams.

You must have each course for 18 days before you can take the online exam. Only need to score 60% to pass. Finish in as little as 54 days.

Step Three

Submit Exam Application to the Department of Real Estate

Download form RE435 (Salesperson Exam/License Application) from DRE website: www.dre.ca.gov

*We recommend this application. It allows your license to be issued on the day you pass the exam.

  • Print and fill out your application and mail with your completion certificates. Remember to include payment for the $60 Exam Fee and $245.00 License Fee.

  • To check the status of your application, go to www.dre.ca.gov and search Processing Timeframes.

**DRE can take anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks to reply with clearance to select a test date.**

Step Four

Study and Prepare for State Exam

  • Exam Preparation is a MUST to adequately prepare for the State exam

  • Read through the exam prep book and review all online Flash Cards and Simulated Exams; practice repeatedly for best results
