REQUIREMENTS TO OBTAIN A REAL ESTATE LICENSE IN CALIFORNIA
You must be at least 18 years of age.
You must be honest and truthful (pass a criminal background check).
You must complete college level courses on Real Estate Practices, Real Estate Principles,
and one elective (Legal Aspects of Real Estate is recommended to help pass exam).
You must pass the State Exam of 150 questions with a grade of at least 70%.

The Department of Real Estate requires you have each course for 2½ weeks before you can test. One 2½ week period starts after the previous one ends. For example, if you ordered three courses, the earliest you can test on your courses would be 18 days after you placed your order, then on day 36 and lastly day 54.You have up to one year from your date of enrollment to complete the courses.

Senate Bill 1495 passed and became affective 1/1/2024. SB 1495 requires all individuals submitting an application to take the salesperson or broker license examination starting January 1, 2024 complete Real Estate Practice course which includes components on implicit bias and fair housing.
